It was a glorious spring morning (5:35AM) as Brian and I set
forth into the Berkshires to hunt the ever elusive and weary
Wild Turkey. We had our slate calls, our gobbling devices and
every other sort of Turkey call or lure under the sun. We set up
in a higher elevation where we had discovered some positive sign
the prior day during our prescouting expedition. Hunting Turkey
with a longbow is a difficult challenge. Turkey's eyes are well
equipped to detect even the most subtle of movement. We ...

THE TWISTED-TONGUE TOURNAMENT
-- Or, Calling All Weird-Word Whizbangers! --
By Adrian Air-of-Sleet, a pleasure-seeking,
mandolin-playing, maroon-hairpiece sort of fellow who enjoys
Italian weddings, spelling bees, and the Calgary Stampede
While I was perusing several dog-eared magazines hanging from
the racks of a 24-hour convenience store in the middle of a
peculiar place named Billy Butts Pond, my enlightenment bulb
went off.
Curious as to why this power of ...

BRAZEN BACKYARD BLUNDERS
-- Or, how to avoid doing things you shouldn't being doing in
your backyard --
By Aphrodite Beamish, a half-witted, hey-nonny-nonny
harridan and makeover maven of bliss-challenged, breathtakingly
bewildering if not botched-up backyards of America
The dog days of summer are clearly upon us, judging from the
plethora of pesky pets and people gadding about in the
nooky-conscious neighborhoods of America.
Statistics say, (and you known ...

What Is A Kitewing?
You propably know what a Kite is, but have you heard about the
Kitewing?
The kitewing is a lightweight hand-held wing shaped as a kite
that can be used for sailing on ice, snow and land with a pair

summer use one can sail with the wing using roller blades, a
mountainboard or a skateboard. I haven´t yet made it in summer,
but winter usage is really cool. I mainly ride at frosen lakes,
but snow-covered open spaces like moun-tains ...

Weather Vanes - brief history and different types
Since the dawn of time, weather has had an impact on humans and
how they live, what they do and when. Today, there is an
unbelievable array of land-based and satellite-based equipment
to help monitor, track and predict the weather, but one
primitive tool still used widely is the weather vane.
Weather vanes are common fixtures on the tops of buildings large
and small. The earliest known weather vane was constructed atop
Athens' Tower of the Winds by an astronomer in 48 B.C., but
you've probably ...

HAS AMERICA GONE TO THE DOGS? -- Or ...Paws for Thought!

Canucks take a good deal of pride in their hockey, beer, and
cellular telephones (especially those Fido commercials about
perky pet-owners who bear a striking resemblance to their posh-
or pathetic-looking pooches).
In Toronto, (the capital of everything BIG in Canada), they
organized a weird and wonderful dog's breakfast event this month
called "Woofstock", to celebrate man's best friend plus ...

of people and age groups. The subjects range from early 20th
century flying machines to modern day jet airplanes. The

highly-realistic model requires a bit of extra knowledge. Here
are some tips for creating a fantastic model:
The parts are made by injection molding, and are covered with a
material to help release them from the mold. This release agent
will ...

I LEFT MY TOES IN TUKTOYAKTUK -- Or, Tittynoping Tales
from a Tavern Fox --
Theolonius McTavish, a trivial talkingstock (an Old English
term for an object of conversation) who inevitably forgets the
punch-lines to knock-knock jokes and consequently is rarely
offered free drinks by pub patrons unless they are woebegone and
desperate for the companionship of a somewhat cabobbled,
copper-nosed cronk (i.e. a mystified, jolly-nosed, gossiping
sort of soul who ...

Model Airplanes
Model airplanes are an excellent hobby for any child or adult.
There are many types of model airplanes. The most commonly
thought of types of model airplanes are the model airplane kits.
People purchase a kit that contains all of the parts and pieces
for them to construct their own model airplane. Such a hobby
provides one with the aesthetically pleasing sensation of
constructing one's own plane. One can feel the thrill of a
scientist, on the verge of discovery and invention. One ...
